Beliefs

We believe in the absolute authority and accuracy of the sixty-six canonical books of the Bible, its full verbal inspiration in the original manuscripts, and its all-sufficiency as the Christian’s rule of faith and practice.

We believe that there is but one God, the Creator, Preserver, and Ruler of all things, Who is perfect in holiness and love, infinite in wisdom and measureless in power.

God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal and only begotten Son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.

He is true God and true man and is the only and sufficient mediator between God and man.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity.

His ministry is to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; to regenerate the believing; and to seal, sanctify, teach, and comfort believers.

We believe that men and women were created in the image of God by direct creation.  

In addition to suffering and pain, sin incurred the penalties of both physical and spiritual death.  

Thus, we believe that all people, by nature and by choice, are sinners, and, apart from Christ, shall be forever separated from God.”

We believe that Jesus Christ, Himself without sin, died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice.

All who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, not of works.

All who receive Jesus Christ by faith as Lord and Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, thereby becoming children of God.

We believe in the eternal security of the believer.

We believe in the resurrection of the body of our Lord, who was first crucified, died, and was buried.“

We believe in His ascension into Heaven and in His present ministry as High Priest and Advocate.

We believe in the personal, visible, imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church.

We also believe in His coming in glory with the saints to establish His kingdom upon the earth.

We believe that upon physical death the spirit of the believer enters immediately into the presence of God.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust.

We believe in the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.

A local church is a voluntary association of baptized believers, independent of any external ecclesiastical control.

We believe that God’s Word commands every believer to be baptized, symbolizing faith in Christ.

We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a provision of bread and cup symbolic of Christ’s body and blood.

It is partaken of by saved individuals in commemoration of Christ’s suffering and in anticipation of His return.

Observance is preceded by faithful self-examination.

We believe that the civil powers are ordained of God and are to be obeyed.

Civil powers and the church are separate in conformity with the Constitution of the United States.
